Oral Surgery
Guildford Dental offers a variety of oral surgery procedures to help improve the overall health and appearance of your smile.
Extractions
We perform dental extractions only in situation where less invasive treatment wou not be effective. This can happen for a number of reasons – extensive decay, severe fracture, or crowding of the surrounding teeth (as if often the case with wisdom teeth) are all examples of when an extraction may be necessary.
Gum Surgery
When gum disease becomes advanced, gum surgery may be necessary. We may also perform gum therapy when tissue has over grown a tooth, or when you have what's called a "gummy smile". The procedure itself will be different in each situation, but with the help of our laser, they all relatively quick, and cause a very minimal amount of discomfort.

Root Canal Therapy
When the pulp at the centre of a tooth becomes infected (typically as a result of a deep cavity, a fracture that allows bacteria to seep in, or injury due to trauma), it can die. Root Canal Therapy involbes cleaning out the pulp chamber, along with any infected portion of root canal, and reshaping it. Medication may be inserted into the area to fight bacteria.
